Just the Right Size.

Have you noticed the latest change in Twitter profiles? Similar to Facebook, Twitter is now allowing users to create a large header photo along with their profile picture. The new layout is clean with larger fonts and they have done away with the background image. I for one like it, but as with all change, I am sure their will be opposition. Word is that Facebook will also reveal their new business pages layout in the coming months. Many users are already on the wait list for it.

With so many changes to social media layouts, I thought it would be a good idea to list out the different dimensions for profile images on the most popular social media sites. They each very so its important to have images that can accomodate the different sizes. The last thing you want is your header photo looking pixelated and stretched out because you did not upload it in a compatable size. Here it goes.

Facebook

Cover Photo: 851 pixels x 315 pixels

Profile Photo: 180 pixels x 180 pixels

Twitter

Header Photo: 1500 pixels x 500 pixels

Profile Photo: 400 pixels x 400 pixels

Google+

Cover Photo: 480 pixels x 270 pixels

Profile Photo 500 pixels x 500 pixels

LinkedIn

Profile Photos: 200 x 200

When uploading your images to social media profiles its always best to use a 72 resolution, RGB file in jpeg or png format. This will ensure that your color scheme doesn't go "neon" on you and that your image is formatted correctly. Happy socializing! Go out there and share your beautiful pics with the world!
